One way is to take advantage of self-storage military discounts. They are available at many storage facilities, so be sure to ask about them when you're shopping around.

Here are five tips for getting the best deal on self-storage in Wichita, Kansas:

How to Get the Best Deal on Self-Storage

1. Compare prices and features of different self-storage facilities

When looking for self-storage, it's essential to do your research and compare prices and features. This will help you find the best deal possible and get exactly what you need from your self-storage facility.

To get quotes from multiple facilities, start by reaching out to a few different places in your area. Some self-storage providers may offer discounts or special promotions, so ask about any available deals.

Not all self-storage facilities post their rates online, so it's always best to call and ask for a quote if you can't find the information you're looking for online.

We are conveniently located at 8282 East Oak Knoll St., and with our reasonable rates and military discounts, we're an excellent choice for military members. 2. Inquire about military discounts

Most self-storage facilities in Wichita, KS, offer a discount to military personnel, so it's definitely worth asking when shopping for a self-storage unit. McConnell Air Force Base is up the road from South Rock Storage, so call or visit our facility to inquire about our latest military discounts.

Self-storage military discounts can range from a percentage of the rental rate to a waived security deposit, so be sure to ask about the details when speaking with a self-storage facility representative.

With the money you save with a self-storage military discount, you'll be able to put it towards other important things, like groceries or your monthly car payment. So don't forget to inquire about self-storage military discounts the next time you're looking for a place to store your belongings!

3. Look for coupons and deals

Looking for the best deal on self-storage can sometimes be a challenge. After all, there are so many options, and it can feel overwhelming trying to sort through them all. But the good news is that there are many ways to find coupons and deals on self-storage.

For one thing, you can often find coupons or discounts online through self-storage facilities or websites that specialize in listing deals and coupons for a wide range of products and services.

You can also look for offers in your local newspaper or other print publications. By shopping around and keeping an eye out for special discounts, you can easily find a suitable self-storage facility at a price that fits your budget.

4. Ask about special promotions

Many self-storage facilities offer special promotions from time to time. If you're looking to save money, be sure to ask about any special promotions that may be going on. You may be able to get a discount for signing up for a more extended rental period or for paying in advance.

Some facilities also offer discounts for referrals, so if you know someone looking for storage, be sure to mention it. By taking advantage of special promotions, you can often get a great deal on the storage you need.

5. Pack your belongings carefully to avoid damage and maximize space

When you're packing your belongings for storage, it's essential to take a few extra minutes to pack them carefully. This will help avoid damage and make the most of the space in your storage unit.

Start by wrapping delicate items in bubble wrap or padding them with soft fabric. Then, use storage bins and boxes to group items and make the most of the space.

Fill any empty spaces with crumpled-up newspaper or fabric to help prevent damage. And be sure to label everything so you can find it easily when you need it.

With extra care, you can avoid damage and make the most of your storage unit.

Others may give you a break on your premium if you agree to limit the time your car is in storage.By doing your research, you can be sure you're getting the best coverage for your needs.Clean your carWe always recommend that you clean your car, inside and out, thoroughly before storage. Wash the exterior and use your favorite wax over the entire exterior of the car to get rid of all imperfections and offer a protective layer on your paint. This will protect the paint from the possibility of corrosion. After that, remove all trash and debris inside the car. Vacuum thoroughly to remove all pet hair, food crumbs, and dirt. If you have leather seats, condition them with a quality leather conditioner to prevent cracking and fading.Once you've done all that, give your car one final wipe down with a microfiber cloth to pick up any residual dirt or dust. Now you're one step closer to storing your car!Remove all personal belongings from the carMake sure to remove all personal belongings from your car before storage. This includes clothes, garbage, food, and any loose items. If you have a trunk, be sure to clean it out as well. The less there is in your car, the less chance there is for mold or mildew to grow. Not only will this prevent items from getting damaged during storage, but it will also help to keep the car clean and organized.Change the oil and filter‍‍Before storing your car for an extended time, it is crucial to change the oil and filter. Used oil contains acids, moisture, and other byproducts of combustion, which can cause corrosion in the engine if left unchanged. We recommend changing your oil and filter a few days before auto storage to prevent this. Once the oil has been changed, drive the car for several miles to allow the new oil to circulate through the entire engine. By following these simple steps, you can help ensure that your car remains in good condition while in storage.Rotate the tiresIf you are planning on storing your car for more than a month, we recommend that you rotate the tires. This will help to prevent flat spots from developing on the tires. To rotate the tires, jack up the car and remove the wheels. Then, switch the position of the front and rear tires. For example, if the front tires are on the left side of the car, move them to the right side.Once the tires have been rotated, lower the car back down and tighten the lug nuts. Check the pressure in all four tires before driving the car again.Fill the gas tank‍As any car owner knows, regular maintenance is essential to keeping your vehicle in good condition. This is especially true if you plan to store your car for an extended time. One crucial step in vehicle storage is filling your gas tank. This will help to prevent moisture and air from entering your tank and damaging your engine. In addition, it will help to keep your car's fuel system in good working order. Moreover, use a fuel stabilizer to keep the fuel from breaking down and forming varnish when it evaporates. This can clog your fuel injectors and carburetor and harm your engine.By taking these simple steps, you can help ensure that your car will be ready to hit the road when you are.Cover your car with a tarpMany aftermarket car tarps available will help prevent the build-up of dust on your vehicle. A waterproof tarp is also a good idea if you live in an area with a lot of rain or snow.We recommend using a tarp designed explicitly for car storage for the best protection. These tarps are made from durable materials and help keep your car clean and dry while in storage.Be sure to roll up your windows before applying the tarp to prevent any bugs or dust from getting inside. These tarps typically hug the vehicle tightly, so there is no risk of them blowing off in high winds.Depending on your climate, you may need to re-apply the tarp every few months to prevent any permanent damage to your car's paint job. These simple steps will help keep your car clean and dust-free.Care for your batteryWhat to do with your car battery when you store your car for the winter is a matter of some controversy among car specialists. However, consulting your owner's manual is always the best action. You may find that the manufacturer has a specific suggestion about what to do with the battery. If not, there are three leading schools of thought on the matter. Some specialists suggest removing the battery and placing it on a wooden block so the battery won't be drained. Others will recommend leaving the battery in the car (but disconnecting the negative (-) terminal of the battery). Finally, other car specialists insist that the battery should be left intact in the car to prevent voltage spikes (which can damage various components).Ultimately, you will need to weigh the pros and cons of each approach and decide what is best for your situation.Use a battery maintainerOne of the most important things you can do to prepare your car for storage is to use a battery maintainer. This device plugs into your car's cigarette lighter and provides a steady stream of electricity to the battery, keeping it charged and preventing it from draining. This is especially important if you plan to store your car for an extended time.Using a battery maintainer can help ensure that your car's battery will be in good working order when you are ready to hit the road again.Put up your convertible topConvertibles are a fun and stylish way to enjoy warmer weather, but they require a bit more care than traditional cars. One crucial tip for convertible owners is to store the vehicle with the top-up. Doing this helps to prevent the formation of large creases in the fabric. If you need to store the car with the top down, treat the fabric with silicone or other lubricants. This will help to keep the material supple and prevent creasing. With a little bit of care, you can enjoy your convertible for many years to come.Choose the right storage facilityNot all storage facilities are created equal. When you're looking for a place to store your car, choosing a facility that offers features like 24-hour security and easy access is crucial. The last thing you want is to worry about your car while it's in storage. By choosing the right storage facility, you can rest assured knowing your vehicle is in good hands. At South Rock Storage, we offer a variety of features to help keep your car safe and secure. 6 Common Boat Storage Options for Small Spaces + Pros and Cons

Your boat is a major investment, so you need to protect it. Here are 6 common boat storage options for small spaces.

When you have a boat, you need to find a storage option for it. You can store it in your backyard, but that may not be the best idea if you live in a cold climate. You can also store it in a marina, which can get expensive. You can also keep it at a facility, which is the cheapest option. You need to ensure the facility is secure and has good insurance. This article describes the various boat storage options you have, as well as storage tips and what to look for in a storage facility in Wichita, Kansas. In Water Boat StorageMany people overlook the benefits of storing their boats in water when looking for boat storage options. Here are some reasons why you might want to consider a water boat storage:Security. Storage options that are located on or near water tend to be more secure than those found on land. This is because they are more challenging for thieves to get to, and they are also easier to monitor.Accessibility. Boat owners can easily access boats stored in water, regardless of the time of year.Convenience. When it comes time to take your boat out for a spin, you won't have to worry about loading it onto a boat trailer and driving it to the lake or river.Storing Your Boat in a Marina SlipWhen you are looking for a place to store your boat, you may want to consider a marina slip. This is an in-water storage option that can provide many benefits. Here are some things to think about when deciding if this is the right choice for you:Marina slips provide easy access to your boat. Simply step on board and go! You don't have to worry about getting it out of the water or loading it on a trailer.In-water storage isn't the best way to protect your boat from the elements. Not only will your boat be exposed to the weather and elements, but keeping a boat perpetually in the water can cause deterioration and damage.A marina wet slip offers security for your boat. You can feel confident knowing that it is safe and protected from theft or vandalism.Dry Outdoor Boat StorageDry boat storage is an excellent choice if you want to keep your boat in good condition and avoid having to clean it every time you use it.Dry outdoor storage facilities are typically fenced-in and have security cameras, which can give you peace of mind when your boat is not in use.The downside of dry storage is that it can be less convenient than marina storage when you want to go for a ride in your boat, especially if you live in a climate where the winters are cold. You also have to factor in the cost of transportation to and from the location, which can be a hassle if you live far away. Another option is dry indoor storage, which can be more expensive, but first, let's explore common dry outdoor options.Parking Your Boat on a Trailer at HomeBoaters often struggle with where to store their boats. Many people have garages, but they are not always large enough to hold a boat. The best option is to find a dry outdoor storage area somewhere on your property. If you have the space on your property, boat trailer storage could be an option for you. You can park your boat on the boat trailer and store it in your backyard or other ample space. When parking your boat on a trailer, make sure that the trailer is level. You can use wood blocks to raise the trailer's front or rear if necessary. It is also vital to ensure that the boat is tied down securely. You can use ratchet straps or ropes to do this.If you are storing your boat on a boat lift or trailer outdoors, it is essential to cover it with a tarp or other coverings. This will protect it from the weather and from UV rays.Outdoor Boat Storage at a Self Storage FacilityWhen you have a boat, there are a lot of things that you need to do in order to keep it in good condition. One of the most important is making sure that it is stored in a place where it will stay dry. If you don't have a place to store your boat at home, you may want to consider self-storage.Self-storage facilities offer a variety of different types of storage units, including ones that are specifically designed for boats. These slots are typically located outside, which means they can accommodate a large variety of watercraft sizes. Many self-storage facilities, like South Rock Storage, have security cameras and gates, which can help keep your boat safe from theft or damage. We also have a helpful guide to help prepare your boat for storage with us.If you're looking for a storage unit at a self-storage location that can house your boat, be sure to check out the options available at self-storage facilities in your area. This is especially important if you live in a climate where there is snow and ice during the winter months.Your boat will be safe from harmful UV rays, which can damage the exterior of your boat over time.By storing your boat indoors, you can extend its life by protecting it from corrosion and rust.Dry Stacked StorageDry stack storage is a unique and popular way to store boats, cars, and other large items outdoors. The name comes from how the items are stored–stacked on top of each other, utilizing the height space of the building. While this storage method maximizes the usage of space, it is often times very costly. Boaters will usually need to give staff significant advance notice of boat usage as well so that they can use their heavy lifting equipment to extract your boat and place it in the water or on a trailer. The other disadvantage is that you will not have complete access to your craft every day and night.Your Home GarageThe garage is often one of the most overlooked spaces in the home. It can be used for a variety of purposes, such as storage, parking, and working on projects. Regarding boat storage, a garage is an excellent option for those with the space. There are a few things to consider when using the garage for boat storage.Make sure that the garage is large enough to store the boat.Check to see if there is an electrical outlet in the garage so you can power up any equipment you need to work on the boat.Make sure that the garage is well-ventilated so that any fumes from gasoline or other chemicals will dissipate quickly.Using it for boat storage is an excellent option if you have enough space in your garage and it meets these requirements.Indoor Boat Storage at a Self Storage FacilityIf you're like many boat enthusiasts, you probably don't want to leave your vessel outdoors where it can be damaged by the elements–especially when it comes to winter storage. That's why an increasing number of boat owners are taking advantage of a storage unit at a self-storage facility. An indoor self-storage facility offers a variety of benefits when it comes to storing boats. For starters, they provide a dry and secure environment, which is vital for keeping your boat in good condition. They also typically have wide aisles and ample space, so you won't have to worry about running into other boats or obstacles. Additionally, most self-storage facilities offer 24-hour access, so you can come and go as you please. If you're looking for indoor boat storage and your boat is small enough to fit, be sure to check out the options at your local facility.Jet Ski and Small Watercraft storageWhen it comes to storing jet skis or small watercraft, you have a few different storage solutions. You can store it in your garage, you can store it in a facility, or you can store it in your backyard.Storing in your garage is probably the easiest option, but it's not always the best option. If you don't have a lot of space in your garage, then you may not be able to fit your small watercraft inside.Another option is to store them at a facility. Boat storage facilities offer indoor and outdoor storage options, and they usually have security cameras and alarm systems to keep your small watercraft safe. The last option is to store your small watercraft in your backyard.Advantages of self-storage options at South Rock StorageWhen it comes time to store your boat, many people don't know where to turn.
